Propel is seeking a Director of Sales to join our mission to modernize America’s safety net.
We make Fresh EBT, a free mobile app that empowers SNAP recipients to more easily manage their benefits and discover new resources. Over 850K users check Fresh EBT monthly across the US.
Under our current business model, we vet and promote partners that offer valuable services to our users; current partners include grocery stores, consumer brands, healthcare companies, and nonprofits. In particular, we enable brands and retailers to offer targeted digital promotions and media to Fresh EBT users.

You'll join our business team at a critical time as we grow our revenue, build services that deliver value to both our partners and our users, and experiment with new business models.
We’re looking for an experienced sales leader to build our retail / CPG vertical. You have significant experience in digital advertising and promotions -- and are excited to leverage your skills and network to build a new business at Propel.
Achieve annual revenue targets through partnerships with CPG companies and retailers
Identify new partners (including brand managers, shopper marketing teams, and media agencies)
Lead the full sales process (including initial prospecting, understanding partner needs, developing tailored proposals, delivering executive-level presentations, and negotiating and finalizing partnerships)
Lead ongoing account management and drive retention with current partners
Act as the “voice of the retailer / brand” within Propel; synthesize partner needs and build the business case for product development
Stay up to date on new trends in digital advertising and promotions and help define business strategy for Propel across the retail / CPG space
Build and lead a team (over time)
4-6 years sales experience
Experience across the sales process (from conducting cold outreach to leading executive-level partner discussions)
Experience selling digital advertising and promotions into retail / CPG companies
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Entrepreneurial bent, either at a startup or through an entrepreneurial project within a larger company
Interest in building a business with a strong social mission at the intersection of private and public sectors
Willing to work in Brooklyn, New York and unrestricted work authorization in the US
Willing to travel
